Trần Tan, 4 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 7th minute, Mai Teo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute, Phạm Minh made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Dong. Da Lat's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 27 minutes into the match, Cao Lanh's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Van Tai Em came free, but Lê Thi Ngoc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Thi Ngoc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đỗ Cuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Trần Van Tai Em sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 minutes, Nguyễn Diem mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cao Lanh and the Da Lat players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Da Lat booed when Cao Lanh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Diem didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Bùi Thi Ngoc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bùi Thi Ngoc hit a great ball. Trần Tan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nguyễn Dong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Triệu Nguyet in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Triệu Nguyet to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Cao Lanh's zone, Trần Van Tai Em stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Thi Ngoc came out of the goal and Trần Van Tai Em tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Triệu Nguyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bùi Thi Ngoc kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Trần Van Tai Em dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lê Thi Ngoc, 1-2. Da Lat's Nguyễn Dong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Minh in the 70th minute of play. Lê Thi Ngoc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Van Tai Em in the 72nd minute of the match. If Triệu Nguyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Triệu Nguyet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th match minute, Cao Lanh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Phu to maneuver through the defense. After 81 played minutes, Da Lat's Trần Tan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lê Thi Ngoc came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Da Lat reached it. Da Lat's Nguyễn Dong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Minh in the 85th minute of play. Cao Lanh's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Đoàn Dinh in the 87th minute. Cao Lanh's Đoàn Dinh was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nguyễn Dong in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 88 minutes into the game, Trần Van Tai Em recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lê Thi Ngoc. Trần Van Tai Em showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. The Cao Lanh supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Da Lat's performance. The match ended with a win for Da Lat.
