Lê Than fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Thien having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Chung Hoai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of La Tuan. Ha Tay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chung Hoai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Hieu Ngan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phan Thien was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but La Tuan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 44th minute of the match, Chung Hoai got a very nice opportunity to score, but La Tuan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Ha Tay's Lê Tran got a free kick in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Đoàn Quang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dak Lak's defense didn't have a chance, in the 90th minute, when Nguyễn Hieu Ngan scored to the left of an out of position Phan Thien, making the score, 1-1. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
