Phan Thai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Viet in the 9th minute of the match. After 9 played minutes Lang Son got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nam. 13 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Thai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lang Son's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ninh Binh the free kick. Phan Thai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đặng Phong in the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Lang Son's goal looked a bit too open when Đặng Phong came free, but Phan Thai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Viet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phan Thai made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Nguyễn Lan sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 38 minutes, Lê Viet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninh Binh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Viet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ninh Binh's Nguyễn Hung tried to score from far away in the 41st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lê Viet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Thai having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Thuyet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ninh Binh getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Lê Hanh hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đặng Phong in the 54th minute of play forced Lang Son's goalkeeper Phan Thai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thuyet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Ho was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. If Lê Phu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Thuyet struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Lê Ho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lang Son. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Viet in the 64th minute of play forced Lang Son's goalkeeper Phan Thai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Thuyet in the 68th minute of play forced Ninh Binh's goalkeeper Lê Ho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ninh Binh's Lê Ho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thuyet in the 71st minute of play. Lê Phu kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th match minute, Ninh Binh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Diem to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Nguyễn Thuyet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lang Son's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Thuyet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Ho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, Lang Son's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Van Tai Em came free, but Phan Thai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Phu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Lê Ho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Lê Viet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lang Son's Phan Thai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Phong in the 95th minute of play. Ninh Binh's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
