Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) When Vũ Thanh came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Kontum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vũ Thanh couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Nhật Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. When Đỗ Thi Ngoc came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Hanoi FC fans jumped to their feet. Đặng Quang Thanh came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Kontum's Vũ Thanh. But to his dismay, Vũ Thanh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Đặng Ritchell hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26thth minute of the game Nguyễn Thi Ngoc who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hanoi FC's Đặng Quang Thanh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vũ Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Đặng Quang Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Đặng Quang Thanh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Vũ Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute, Đặng Ritchell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kontum's Vũ Thanh in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hanoi FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Nguyễn Nhật Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Viet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Nhật Minh in the 42nd minute of play. Đặng Quang Thanh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Phuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute, Nguyễn Phuc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th match minute, Kontum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trương Hong to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Kontum were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Nhật Minh to strike the kick off in the second half. Đặng Quang Thanh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th match minute, Kontum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Dung to maneuver through the defense. After 57 played minutes Kontum got a freekick which was hit by Phan Dung. The crowd rose to their feet as Phan Dung kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Đặng Quang Thanh. That made the score 0-2 in the 59 minute of play. Nguyễn Hoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. The supporters of Hanoi FC booed when Kontum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đỗ Lan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Viet came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Hanoi FC's Nguyễn Hoa. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Hoa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Nguyễn Viet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Nhật Minh's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. With an all-out effort, Kontum's Đặng Quang Thanh threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Hanoi FC's Đỗ Thi Ngoc got a free kick in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hanoi FC's zone, Vũ Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đặng Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Vũ Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 85 minutes, Nguyễn Nhật Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hanoi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Nhật Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Viet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nhật Minh in the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Nguyễn Phuc had to leave the field with a concussion. Đỗ Thi Ngoc charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Đỗ Thi Ngoc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Hanoi FC's Đỗ Thi Ngoc got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Hanoi FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
