When Lê Phu came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Lang Son fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Phu couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Nga during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th match minute, Ha Tay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nga to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Nam charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Nam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Lang Son's Nguyễn Nam got a free kick in the 16th minute. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Phan Thai when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 23 minutes, Lê Phu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lang Son's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Phu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Thuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Phan Thai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ha Tay's Nguyễn Hieu Ngan got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 37 played minutes Lang Son got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Thuyet. In the 43rdth minute of the game Lê Phu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ha Tay's La Tuan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Nguyễn Thuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Thuyet was the one to do the kick off. Lê Than scored 1-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phan Thai, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. La Tuan made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Lê Phu sent off a good shot on target. Lê Pham hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Nguyễn Thuyet took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for La Tuan to make any attempt to save it. In the 85th minute, one of Ha Tay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ha Tay. When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, Lang Son's Nguyễn Nhật Minh got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of La Tuan. Ha Tay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Nguyễn Thuyet scored to the left of an out of position La Tuan, making the score, 1-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Thuyet in the 100th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg La Tuan saved Ha Tay from getting behind. Lang Son played a much better game than Ha Tay and deserved their victory. The Ha Tay players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
