With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phan Thien prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ninh Binh's Lê Ho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vũ Minh Phượng in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đặng Phong in the 10th minute of play forced Dak Lak's goalkeeper Phan Thien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chung Hoai who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Lê Ho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lê Viet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Thien having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Đặng Phong made a kick off. Lê Ho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ninh Binh players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
