The supporters of Lao Cai booed when kris was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hoàng Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Huỳnh Hung acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 40th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Huỳnh Thanh Bình. After a defensive mix-up in kris's zone, Nguyễn Chung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Huỳnh Hung came out of the goal and Nguyễn Chung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Huỳnh Viet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of kris booed when Lao Cai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Thi didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
57 minutes into the match, Phạm Tho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Thuyet. Lao Cai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phạm Tho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After 64 played minutes kris got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Dung. If Nguyễn Chung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huỳnh Hung stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Huỳnh Viet's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Phạm Tho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Thuyet made a huge save. Nguyễn Chung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Huỳnh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lao Cai's Hồ Huynh Duc in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye kris's goalie prevented a goal. Nguyễn Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Nguyễn Thuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
