Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kontum's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vũ Thanh got free with Phan Thai in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Phan Dung hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Thuyet notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kontum's Nguyễn Viet. Nguyễn Viet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Vũ Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thuyet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Viet was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Thuyet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Viet didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 51st minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Lang Son's Phan Thai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thi Ngoc in the 74th minute of play. Vũ Thanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Lang Son's Lê Phu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Viet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Lê Phu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
