The supporters of Hanoi FC booed when Ninh Binh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Van Tai Em didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Nhật Minh struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Lê Ho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hanoi FC. 13 minutes into the match, Ninh Binh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Nhật Minh came free, but Lê Ho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 minutes, Nguyễn Lan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ninh Binh and the Hanoi FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, Ninh Binh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Lan to maneuver through the defense. In the 25thth minute of the game Nguyễn Nhật Minh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ninh Binh's Lê Ho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nguyễn Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Nguyễn Nhật Minh left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hanoi FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ninh Binh's Nguyễn Lan got a free kick in the 35th minute. Nguyễn Nhật Minh blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Ho having to make a save. In the 37th minute, Lê Viet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Đặng Quang Thanh was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Đinh Loc's late challenge caught a Ninh Binh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Đinh Loc helped the player get up and apologised. Đinh Loc kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 46 minutes, Nguyễn Hoai mouthed his way into the referee's book. After a defensive mix-up in Hanoi FC's zone, Đặng Phong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đặng Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Đặng Phong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đặng Quang Thanh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Lan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Nguyễn Lan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ninh Binh's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Lan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Đặng Quang Thanh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Nhật Minh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the game, Lê Hanh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ninh Binh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hanoi FC the free kick. In the 69th minute, Lê Hanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đặng Quang Thanh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Lan, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Hanoi FC's Vương Tuyet managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Phan Phuc in the 79 minute of the game. Phan Phuc made in the 80th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Trần Van Tai Em however managed to control. Đặng Phong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Hanoi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Viet came free, but Đặng Quang Thanh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ninh Binh's Lê Ho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Ninh Binh from getting a goal against them. After having played for 88 minutes, Nguyễn Nhật Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hanoi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Nhật Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Nhật Minh was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ninh Binh's Nguyễn Lan got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ninh Binh fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hanoi FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
