Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Lê Than kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Trần Thai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Binh Duong's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thanh Hoa the free kick. Trần Thai kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 4 played minutes, Thanh Hoa's Nguyễn Cong Vinh shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lê Nga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Thanh Hoa reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Thanh Hoa's zone, Nguyễn Thanh Bình stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Phuong came out of the goal and Nguyễn Thanh Bình tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Thanh Hoa's Nguyễn Tran got a free kick in the 7th minute. If Nguyễn Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Cuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Phuong having to interfere. Mai Phuoc hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Than in the 21st minute of play forced Binh Duong's goalkeeper Lê Nga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Nguyễn Thanh Bình managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Binh Duong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Thanh Bình was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trần Phuong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Thanh Bình's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Thanh Hoa's Trần Phuong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thanh Bình in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Thanh Hoa booed when Binh Duong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Thai didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nguyễn Cong Vinh came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Thanh Hoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Cong Vinh couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Binh Duong getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Huỳnh Thanh Bình hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, Lê Than cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Lê Nga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lê Cong Vinh got free with Lê Nga in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 41 minutes into the match, Binh Duong's Nguyễn Cuc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trần Phuong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Nguyễn Tran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thanh Hoa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Nguyễn Cuc made the kick off in the second half. Binh Duong's Nguyễn Thanh Bình got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Than in the 62nd minute of play forced Binh Duong's goalkeeper Lê Nga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Binh Duong's Mai Phuoc got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Đào Hoang during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute, Đào Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Nga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Than in the 68th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Thanh Hoa's goalkeeper Trần Phuong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Thanh Bình. Nguyễn Tran hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Lê Than sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Phuong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cuc in the 82nd minute of play. Đào Viet's late challenge caught a Binh Duong's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Đào Viet helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Binh Duong booed when Thanh Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đào Viet didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Thanh Bình cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Trần Phuong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Binh Duong's Trần Thai got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute, Nguyễn Cong Vinh sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Binh Duong's Lê Nga didn't even have to move. The Binh Duong players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Thanh Hoa from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
