Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trần Minh Phượng started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hieu Ngan in the 4th minute of play forced Ca Mau's goalkeeper Nguyễn Chung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Hieu Ngan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Chung having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Trịnh Hung got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute Trần Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Chung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Chung was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Trần Hieu Ngan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Trần Hieu Ngan really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Ha Tinh's Nguyễn Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Minh Phượng in the 28th minute of play. After 30 minutes of play, Ca Mau's Trịnh Hung made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Hong was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd minute of the match Trịnh Hieu Ngan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Hong skillfully saved the ball. Nguyễn Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Minh Phượng in the 35th minute of the match. After having played for 39 minutes, Trịnh Hung managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ca Mau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trịnh Hung was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Ha Tinh's goal looked a bit too open when Trịnh Hung came free, but Nguyễn Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Trần Hieu Ngan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nguyễn Hong made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Trịnh Hung sent off a good shot on target. Nguyễn Thi charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Thi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Thi kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Nguyễn Hong acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Trịnh Hieu Ngan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Minh Phượng in the 70th minute of play forced Ha Tinh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Trần Hieu Ngan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Chung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Hieu Ngan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the game, Đinh Duc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ha Tinh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ca Mau the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Ha Tinh:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ca Mau:s goal. When the match had been going on for 84 minutes, Ca Mau's Trần Thuy got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nguyễn Hong. Nguyễn Chung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ha Tinh booed when Ca Mau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hieu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ha Tinh's Nguyễn Thi in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ca Mau's goalie prevented a goal.
