Paris Saint Germain's Trần Hieu got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Lương Nghiêm-Minh made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Phạm Phuc sent off a good shot on target. In the 38th minute, Phạm Thien ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Teo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nguyễn Teo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Thien in the 42nd minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Phạm Thien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hung Yen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phạm Thien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trần Hieu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Phạm Phuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phạm Thien received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nguyễn Teo came out and tried to block the shot, but Phạm Thien slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 57th minute. Phạm Pham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hung Yen's goalkeeper Lương Nghiêm-Minh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 69th minute Phạm Thien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Teo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Teo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Phạm Thien's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Phạm Pham succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 79th playminute. The supporters of Hung Yen booed when Paris Saint Germain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vũ Minh Phượng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paris Saint Germain's Nguyễn Teo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Paris Saint Germain from getting a goal against them.
