Nguyễn Teo came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Dak To's Phan Cong Vinh. But to his dismay, Phan Cong Vinh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dak To's goalkeeper Đỗ Phuong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Nguyễn Nguyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Paris Saint Germain defense, Nguyễn Nguyet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Teo. The Paris Saint Germain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Teo should have stopped the shot. When Paris Saint Germain's Trần Hieu in 36 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Đỗ Phuong guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phạm Phuc got free with Đỗ Phuong in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Dak To's Đỗ Phuong got control of the ball when Phạm Phuc tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Nguyet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Teo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dak To's Vũ Van Tai Em got a free kick in the 45th minute. Paris Saint Germain's Nguyễn Tong couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Dak To. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Chuong during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 47 played minutes Dak To got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Chuong. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Nguyet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Trần Hieu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 58 minutes, Phạm Phuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paris Saint Germain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phạm Phuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Đỗ Binh hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Paris Saint Germain's Phạm Phuc got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Đỗ Phuong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Phuc, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64th match minute, Paris Saint Germain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đào Chi to maneuver through the defense. When Phan Cong Vinh came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Dak To fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phan Cong Vinh couldn't finish the play. Phạm Phuc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Paris Saint Germain booed when Dak To was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phạm Phuc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Hieu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Đỗ Phuong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Phan Tuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đỗ Phuong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Phuc in the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Paris Saint Germain's zone, Nguyễn Nguyet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Teo came out of the goal and Nguyễn Nguyet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Dak To booed when Paris Saint Germain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vũ Minh Phượng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dak To's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
