After 24 played minutes Bắc Ninh got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tong. After a defensive mix-up in Dak Nong's zone, Phan Nhật Minh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Huy came out of the goal and Phan Nhật Minh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trần Nhật Minh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Văn Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Phạm Nghiêm-Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trần Nhật Minh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Văn Tinh in the 37th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Văn Tinh made a kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Phạm Nghiêm-Minh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dak Nong's Nguyễn Huy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dak Nong's zone, Phan Nhật Minh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Huy came out of the goal and Phan Nhật Minh tried to chip the ball over his head. Trần Nhật Minh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Liễu Phuong in the 61st minute. Nguyễn Thuyet kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huỳnh Tấn Dũng in the 86th minute of play forced Bắc Ninh's goalkeeper Trần Nhật Minh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 played minutes Bắc Ninh got a freekick which was hit by Phan Nhật Minh. If Văn Tinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Bắc Ninh getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Lê Huỳnh hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dak Nong walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
