Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hoàng Hong took the kick off in the first half of the match. Lê Hoang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Nguyễn Binh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Son La's Nguyễn Binh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Mai in the 19th minute of play. Trần Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hoàng Hong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Hoai came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Son La's Hoàng Hong. But to his dismay, Hoàng Hong quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 33rd minute, Trần Mai reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nguyễn Binh. The goal made the score 1-2. Nguyễn Minh Phượng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Hoai having to interfere. After a rather tough play, PleiKu's Nguyễn Dung got a free kick in the 38th minute. Hoàng Hong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Hoai having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Huỳnh Quang Thanh during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 played minutes PleiKu got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Quang Thanh. After having played for 47 minutes, Nguyễn Phuong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Son La's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Phuong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trần Mai made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Son La got a freekick which was hit by Đặng Lam. Phạm Nghiêm-Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Nguyễn Binh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lê Hoang's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Hoàng Hong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Hoang in the 68th minute of play forced Son La's goalkeeper Nguyễn Binh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Binh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Hoang went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Son La getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Nguyễn Tinh hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the match, Son La's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Mai came free, but Nguyễn Binh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute, Nguyễn Minh Phượng fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Trần Hoai, passed just outside the right post. With his leg Trần Hoai managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Son La's Nguyễn Minh Phượng fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, PleiKu's Phạm Nghiêm-Minh got a free kick in the 82nd minute. PleiKu's Phạm Nghiêm-Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Phạm Nghiêm-Minh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Minh Phượng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Hoai having to interfere. PleiKu's Trần Hoai proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save PleiKu from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Son La booed when PleiKu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đoàn Khoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, PleiKu's Trần Hoai got control of the ball when Nguyễn Minh Phượng tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute Hoàng Hong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Đoàn Khoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Hoàng Hong managed to get in a good position for a shot. Son La's supporters rose to their feet, but Hoàng Hong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Hoai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
