A collision led to Garu FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Lê Hoa hit a great ball. Nguyễn Phuc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Minh Phượng's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Phạm Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Trần Minh Phượng in the 21st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Võ Thuy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Thi Ngoc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ba Ria-Vung Tau getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc hit a great ball. In the 31st minute Trần Minh Phượng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Nguyễn Quang Thanh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Trần Phu came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Nguyễn Quang Thanh. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Quang Thanh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Garu FC's Trần Phu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Nguyễn Chuong kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Võ Thuy got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Nguyễn Phuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dương Van Tai Em in the 54th minute of play. Võ Thuy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Trần Phu made a huge save. Nguyễn Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute of the match, Nguyễn Quang Thanh tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Trần Phu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Trần Minh Phượng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phạm Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Dương Van Tai Em received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Nguyễn Phuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dương Van Tai Em in the 70th minute of play forced Ba Ria-Vung Tau's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Phuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Minh Phượng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Dương Van Tai Em shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Võ Thuy was extremely unlucky when he, in the 82nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Nguyễn Quang Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Garu FC's Trần Phu got control of the ball when Võ Thuy tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th match minute, Garu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Minh to maneuver through the defense. Võ Thuy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trần Phu having to make a save. Nguyễn Quang Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Trần Phu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ba Ria-Vung Tau had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
