In the 3rd minute, Nguyễn Diem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 5 played minutes son heung min got a freekick which was hit by Vũ Hoa. Lương Chung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Hung, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Lương Chung made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, son heung min's goalkeeper Lương Chung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tôn Duc. Lê Dung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Diem in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hung in the 18th minute of play forced son heung min's goalkeeper Lương Chung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Trần Hung came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ha Giang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Hung couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ngô Huynh Duc in the 23rd minute of play forced Ha Giang's goalkeeper Lê Dung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Lê Dung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ngô Huynh Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Dung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ngô Huynh Duc, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Lê Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd match minute, son heung min was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Hoang to maneuver through the defense. Lương Chung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hung in the 37th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Vũ Hoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in son heung min's zone, Hoàng Viet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lương Chung came out of the goal and Hoàng Viet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Diem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lương Chung came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Ha Giang's Hoàng Viet. But to his dismay, Hoàng Viet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Hung was the one to do the kick off. Ngô Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Lê Dung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Hung took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lương Chung. Lương Chung dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The supporters of Ha Giang booed when son heung min was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lý Hanh didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Huỳnh Ho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lương Chung skillfully saved the ball. After 70 played minutes Ha Giang got a freekick which was hit by Tôn Duc. In the 73rd minute Hoàng Viet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lương Chung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Diem who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Lê Dung when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ngô Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Lê Dung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Ha Giang's goal looked a bit too open when Ngô Huynh Duc came free, but Lê Dung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ha Giang's Huỳnh Ho got a free kick in the 91st minute. Nguyễn Diem recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 97 minutes, Nguyễn Diem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. son heung min's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Diem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ngô Huynh Duc kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lê Dung. That made the score 3-1 in the 98 minute of play.
