Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Viet Tri's Nguyễn Hoang started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Phùng Bay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Nam in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Nam in the 6th minute of play forced HaTuFC's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th match minute, HaTuFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nam to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thi having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Hoang's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Thi was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. After 27 played minutes HaTuFC got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hong. Hoàng Bien was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Nguyễn Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd match minute, HaTuFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Thanh to maneuver through the defense. Phùng Bay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Hong Minh in the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rdth minute of the game Nguyễn Nam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viet Tri's Phùng Bay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Nam to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when Hoàng Bien put in a rough tackle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Hong during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Trần Nam took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Thi. Nguyễn Thi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Hoàng Thai hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute of the match Đặng Tong sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Thi skillfully saved the ball. When Trần Nam came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Viet Tri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Nam couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phạm Lien in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phùng Bay saved Viet Tri from getting behind. Nguyễn Thi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 73rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nguyễn Teo. Trần Nam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Nguyễn Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Nam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Thi made a huge save. After some careless play in the HaTuFC defense, Lưu Hoang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Thi. The HaTuFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Thi should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, HaTuFC's Nguyễn Hong got a free kick in the 88th minute. Đặng Tong was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 88th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Trần Nam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phạm Lien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phùng Bay having to interfere. Phùng Bay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phạm Lien in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Viet Tri eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
