Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Thai got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Dong Nai's Nguyễn Thai got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Huỳnh Binh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nguyễn Thai came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Dong Nai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Thai couldn't finish the play. Phạm Lien hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Dong Nai's Nguyễn Phuoc got control of the ball when Võ Thuy tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Dong Nai getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Nguyễn Viet hit a great ball. Nguyễn Thai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Phuc having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Võ Thuy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dong Nai the free kick. The supporters of Dong Nai booed when Ba Ria-Vung Tau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Võ Thuy didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26thth minute of the game Nguyễn Thai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Nguyễn Phuc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Quang Thanh dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nguyễn Phuoc, 1-0. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Nguyễn Thi Ngoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 37 minutes into the match, Ba Ria-Vung Tau's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Phu came free, but Nguyễn Phuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Dong Nai's Nguyễn Phuoc got control of the ball when Võ Thuy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Phuoc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Thi Ngoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Quang Thanh to strike the kick off in the second half. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Huỳnh Binh struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Nguyễn Phuc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dong Nai. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Phuoc prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 61 in the game by Nguyễn Thai from a close distance when the talented Nguyễn Phuc managed to make a qualified save. Ba Ria-Vung Tau's players were relieved. In the 64th minute, Nguyễn Viet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dong Nai's Nguyễn Lam was substituted for Huỳnh Binh. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Thai's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Phuc was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Nguyễn Thai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Phuc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Nguyễn Quang Thanh took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Phuoc. Nguyễn Phuoc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 88 minutes into the match, Ba Ria-Vung Tau's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Lam. La Lam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Phuc made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Ba Ria-Vung Tau's zone, Nguyễn Thai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Phuc came out of the goal and Nguyễn Thai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dong Nai's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
