In the 5th minute, Trần Thanh sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dak To's Nguyễn Hieu didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Phạm Thanh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dak To's supporters rose to their feet, but Phạm Thanh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Thi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute, Đào Than got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Thi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Thanh in the 18th minute of the match. When HaTuFC's Phạm Lien in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dak To's goalie prevented a goal. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind HaTuFC's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to HaTuFC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nguyễn Nam hit a great ball. With a little luck, HaTuFC's Nguyễn Thi got control of the ball when Đào Than tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Phạm Lien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Phạm Thanh, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 30 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Nguyễn Thi was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Nguyễn Hong hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 32 minutes in the game, Phạm Thanh fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nguyễn Thi having to interfere. In the 34th of the match, Phạm Thanh tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Nguyễn Thi got in the way and made a wonderful save. The supporters of Dak To booed when HaTuFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Hong Minh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Đào Than kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Nguyễn Hieu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Nam in the 44th minute of play. After 45 played minutes Dak To got a freekick which was hit by Trần Nghiêm-Minh. When Phạm Thanh came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Dak To fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Thanh couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Phạm Thanh made a kick off. Nguyễn Thi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đào Than in the 52nd minute of play. Phạm Thanh blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Thi having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Nam in the 55th minute of play forced Dak To's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hieu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th match minute, Dak To was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Diem to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Hieu made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Phạm Lien sent off a good shot on target. Phạm Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Nguyễn Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phạm Thanh in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Thi saved HaTuFC from getting behind. Phạm Thanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 73 minutes, Phạm Lien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HaTuFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phạm Lien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Thi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đào Than, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute, Phạm Thanh made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Thi. HaTuFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Đào Than fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thi having to interfere. If Nguyễn Nam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nguyễn Hieu was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Nguyễn Nam capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Nam really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. A hard shot by Nguyễn Thanh from long distance, 89 minutes into the match, got Nguyễn Hieu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phạm Thanh in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Thi saved HaTuFC from getting behind. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by HaTuFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Trần Tho was slow to take the kick. During this time Dak To's players had a chance to rest. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
