Viet Tri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Hoang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lê Tuan hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Đào Van Quyen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phùng Bay having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Hong Minh got free with Phùng Bay in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trần Quang Thanh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hoang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lưu Hoang in the 84th minute of play forced Dong Xam's goalkeeper Trần Quang Thanh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Thanh Bình's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Quang Thanh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Dong Xam's Nguyễn Hong Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 93 minutes of play, Viet Tri's Nguyễn Hoang made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Trần Quang Thanh was left in no man's land by his defense there! Viet Tri's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
