Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lê Nga made the kick off which started today's match. Võ Thuy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Chi having to make a save. When Nguyễn Quang Thanh came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Quang Thanh couldn't finish the play. Mai Minh Phượng charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mai Minh Phượng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Kon Tum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mai Minh Phượng to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Chi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hồ Thanh Bình. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Nguyet in the 13th minute of play forced Ba Ria-Vung Tau's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Nguyet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st match minute, Kon Tum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trịnh Hoang to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Nguyễn Chi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Trần Nguyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nguyễn Phuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Nga in the 41st minute of play. Lê Thanh Bình's late challenge caught a Kon Tum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lê Thanh Bình helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ba Ria-Vung Tau! In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Kon Tum. Trịnh Hoang stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nguyễn Phuc. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Nguyễn Quang Thanh made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ba Ria-Vung Tau getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Trần Minh hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Nga in the 53rd minute of play forced Ba Ria-Vung Tau's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Chi came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Võ Thuy. But to his dismay, Võ Thuy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute Lê Nga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Võ Thuy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 65 played minutes Kon Tum got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Bien. Võ Thuy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phạm Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Lê Nga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kon Tum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Nga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ba Ria-Vung Tau's Nguyễn Quang Thanh got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute, Nguyễn Quang Thanh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Quang Thanh struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Nguyễn Chi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ba Ria-Vung Tau. The Kon Tum supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Kon Tum would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
