In the 12th minute, Nguyễn Nam made a precise shot to the right of Trần Quang Thanh. Dong Xam's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Trần Quang Thanh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Nam went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Dong Xam defense, Nguyễn Hong kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trần Quang Thanh. The Dong Xam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trần Quang Thanh should have stopped the shot. Trần Quang Thanh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phạm Lien in the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Dong Xam's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Nam came free, but Trần Quang Thanh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
Nguyễn Thi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hong Minh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the match, Dong Xam's goalkeeper Trần Quang Thanh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phạm Lien. Trần Quang Thanh made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Nguyễn Hong sent off a good shot on target. Phạm Lien came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Trần Quang Thanh could save by the left post. Lê Tuan kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Hoàng Ritchell kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Trần Quang Thanh was a little too slow when Nguyễn Nam got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 2-7. 70 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Hong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HaTuFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dong Xam the free kick. Trần Quang Thanh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Lien, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the game, HaTuFC's Nguyễn Hong nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trần Quang Thanh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-8. After a defensive mix-up in Dong Xam's zone, Nguyễn Nam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Nam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd match minute, Dong Xam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Tuan to maneuver through the defense. Trần Thanh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Trần Quang Thanh. Dong Xam's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Phạm Lien could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Trần Quang Thanh however easily saved by the left post. In the 93rd minute Nguyễn Nam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Quang Thanh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Dong Xam's Lê Tuan got a free kick in the 94th minute. HaTuFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
