An unexpectedly hard shot by Phùng Pham in the 8th minute of play forced Manchester's goalkeeper Hoàng Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Huy Hoàng FC's Nguyễn Phong got a free kick in the 12th minute. Phạm Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Hoàng Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Phu in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hoàng Hung prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute Phùng Pham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Hung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vũ Tran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Trần Huỳnh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Phu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Huy Hoàng FC's zone, Trần Hong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Huỳnh came out of the goal and Trần Hong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Huy Hoàng FC's Trần Huỳnh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 40th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Phu to make the kick off. The supporters of Huy Hoàng FC booed when Manchester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trịnh Tan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phùng Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Hoàng Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 55 minutes, Vũ Tran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vũ Tran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trần Huỳnh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vũ Tran in the 56th minute of the match. Phùng Pham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Hoàng Hung made a huge save. Phùng Pham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 61 played minutes Manchester got a freekick which was hit by Trịnh Tan. In the 66th minute, Trần Hong ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trần Huỳnh was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 68 minutes into the match, Huy Hoàng FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Khoi came free, but Trần Huỳnh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, Manchester was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Hoang to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Phu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Hung having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Nguyễn Cuc got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 92nd minute, Nguyễn Khoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 96 minutes, Nguyễn Khoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Khoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
