The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Thuyet showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Văn Tấn Dũng came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Tuy Hoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Văn Tấn Dũng couldn't finish the play. Tuy Hoa's Nguyễn Thuyet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nghiêm Nhật Minh in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hoai in the 10th minute of play forced Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thuyet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phan Khoi was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Nguyễn Tho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Tho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The supporters of Bắc Kạn booed when Tuy Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mai Chung didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Trần Hoai came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Bắc Kạn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trần Hoai couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hoai in the 36th minute of play forced Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thuyet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Trần Hoai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vũ Tran was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Vũ Tran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phan Khoi was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After 62 minutes of play, Tuy Hoa's Vũ Tran made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Phan Khoi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bắc Kạn's Phan Khoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vũ Tran in the 65th minute of play. Văn Tấn Dũng ran back to his position shaking his head. Trần Hoai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nghiêm Nhật Minh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Thuyet made a huge save. Nghiêm Nhật Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hoàng Huỳnh during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hoàng Huỳnh kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Nguyễn Tho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Văn Tấn Dũng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hoai in the 96th minute of play.
