After a rather tough play, Cau Hai's Chung Minh got a free kick in the 14th minute. Phùng Pham's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, La Cadeo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Huy Hoàng FC's Phùng Pham got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Phùng Pham got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Hoàng Minh kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. If Nguyễn Phu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, Cau Hai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bùi Liem to maneuver through the defense. Huy Hoàng FC's Trần Huỳnh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lương Binh in the 37th minute of play. If Phùng Pham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Phu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of La Cadeo. Nguyễn Phu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the game, Huy Hoàng FC's Phùng Pham nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. La Cadeo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Chung Minh got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Cau Hai getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Chung Minh hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Cau Hai's goal looked a bit too open when Phùng Pham came free, but La Cadeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cau Hai's La Cadeo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Phu in the 63rd minute of play. Nguyễn Phu took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised La Cadeo. La Cadeo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If Phùng Pham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cau Hai's goalkeeper La Cadeo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. La Cadeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phùng Pham, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Phùng Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. La Cadeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. La Cadeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Phu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Lương Binh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cau Hai's supporters rose to their feet, but Lương Binh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Huỳnh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute Nguyễn Phu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but La Cadeo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Phùng Pham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huy Hoàng FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phùng Pham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Huy Hoàng FC booed when Cau Hai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Hanh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cau Hai's La Cadeo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Phu in the 98th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Huy Hoàng FC fully deserved thier win.
