In the 3rd minute Văn Tấn Dũng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vũ Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thuyet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 8 minutes into the game, Vũ Tran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Vũ Hoang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Dong Ha booed when Tuy Hoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đặng Phuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thuyet having to interfere. Trần Tan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Thuyet made a huge save. Vũ Hoang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Văn Tấn Dũng in the 21st minute of play. Trần Chuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 minutes, Mai Chung mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tuy Hoa and the Dong Ha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mai Chung kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thuyet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trần Tan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Văn Tấn Dũng in the 30th minute of play forced Dong Ha's goalkeeper Vũ Hoang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Vũ Tran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Vũ Hoang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Dong Ha's zone, Văn Tấn Dũng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vũ Hoang came out of the goal and Văn Tấn Dũng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dong Ha's Vũ Hoang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Văn Tấn Dũng in the 44th minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Phong was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dong Ha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tuy Hoa the free kick. In the 48th minute, Nguyễn Phong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Duc was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 49th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trần Chuong stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trần Chuong took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Thuyet. Nguyễn Thuyet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Nguyễn Thuyet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Chuong's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Nguyễn Tho hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Trần Tan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Trần Tan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dong Ha's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Tan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Thuyet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Tan in the 79th minute of play. Văn Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vũ Hoang having to interfere. If Văn Tấn Dũng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute Vũ Tran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vũ Hoang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute Trần Tan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thuyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
