Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nguyễn Phu kicked off to start the match. Huy Hoàng FC's Nguyễn Phu got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Trần Cuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Phu in the 9th minute of play. Trần Cuc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phùng Pham in the 11th minute. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Huỳnh having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Huy Hoàng FC's zone, Đặng Duy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Huỳnh came out of the goal and Đặng Duy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Phu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Trần Cuc. Nguyễn Phu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Nguyễn Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phùng Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Trần Cuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Phu came free, but Trần Cuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Huy Hoàng FC's zone, Lâm Duc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Huỳnh came out of the goal and Lâm Duc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Phạm Huynh Duc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huy Hoàng FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phạm Huynh Duc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Vinh Long's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Phu came free, but Trần Cuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Cuc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phùng Pham in the 40th minute.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Đặng Duy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trần Huỳnh made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Nguyễn Tấn Dũng sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Vinh Long booed when Huy Hoàng FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Cuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Phan Thi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trần Huỳnh made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Nguyễn Tấn Dũng sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th minute of the match Nguyễn Lam sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trần Cuc skillfully saved the ball. When Phạm Huynh Duc fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huy Hoàng FC's protests and gave Phạm Huynh Duc a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Huy Hoàng FC got a freekick which was hit by Phạm Huynh Duc. If Phùng Pham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phùng Pham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Vinh Long fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Vinh Long's Đặng Duy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
