Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Đặng Duy kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute, Nguyễn Lien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Vinh Long getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Nguyễn Dung hit a great ball. Trần Cuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Lien in the 6th minute of play. Nha Trang's Hoàng Thanh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Nha Trang from getting a goal against them. Phạm Cadeo kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Đặng Duy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Thanh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hoàng Thanh was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Trần Cuc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Lien's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hoàng Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Cuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Lien in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
After a rather tough play, Nha Trang's Phạm Cadeo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Nguyễn Lien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nha Trang's Hoàng Thanh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Duy in the 60th minute of play. Huỳnh Tấn Dũng blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Trần Cuc having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Huỳnh Tấn Dũng in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trần Cuc saved Vinh Long from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Đặng Duy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vinh Long fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. If Đặng Duy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đặng Duy scored 4-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hoàng Thanh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Trần Cuc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Huỳnh Tấn Dũng in the 83rd minute of the match. Nguyễn Lien succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-1 in the 84th playminute. The audience was convinced that Huỳnh Tấn Dũng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trần Cuc was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Nguyễn Lien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Trần Cuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vinh Long's zone, Huỳnh Tấn Dũng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trần Cuc came out of the goal and Huỳnh Tấn Dũng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Nha Trang players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vinh Long.
