Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tôn Thai kicked off to start the match. Cau Hai's La Cadeo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Cau Hai from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the game, Tôn Thai recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of La Cadeo. Tôn Thai showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tôn Thai in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg La Cadeo saved Cau Hai from getting behind. La Cadeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tôn Thai, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Lương Binh struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Đinh Lam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cau Hai. In the 35th minute, Hồ Tuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đinh Lam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Duy in the 36th minute of play. Phu Tho's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Cau Hai's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tôn Thai 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lương Binh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Phu Tho's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nguyễn Duy was slow to take the kick. During this time Cau Hai's players had a chance to rest. In the 55th minute Cau Hai were awarded a corner. Nguyễn Duy went to the cornerflag to take it. 64 minutes into the match, Cau Hai's goal looked a bit too open when Đặng Hung came free, but La Cadeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Lương Binh put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Đinh Lam. Lương Binh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Đinh Lam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Trần Tong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tôn Thai in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg La Cadeo saved Cau Hai from getting behind. Tôn Thai blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without La Cadeo having to make a save. A collision led to Cau Hai getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Hoàng Minh hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Phu Tho were awarded a corner. Phạm Bay went to the cornerflag to take it. If Lương Binh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
