Trần Tan took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Huỳnh. Trần Huỳnh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 21st match minute, Huy Hoàng FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nam to maneuver through the defense. Trần Huỳnh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Chuong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huy Hoàng FC's Phùng Pham got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Phu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vũ Hoang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Trần Huỳnh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Chuong's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Trần Chuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Trần Huỳnh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Huỳnh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Chuong in the 45th minute of play. Phùng Pham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Vũ Hoang made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Trần Chuong made the kick off in the second half. Dong Ha were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Huy Hoàng FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ngô Anh Hung took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ngô Anh Hung got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Trần Huỳnh quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Trần Tan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Trần Chuong dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Trần Huỳnh, 0-2. After 60 played minutes Dong Ha got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Phong. Nguyễn Phu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Phong kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Huy Hoàng FC's Phạm Huynh Duc got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 70th minute of the match Ngô Anh Hung sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trần Huỳnh skillfully saved the ball. When Huy Hoàng FC's Nguyễn Phu in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dong Ha's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Phùng Pham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vũ Hoang was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. When Huy Hoàng FC's Phùng Pham in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dong Ha's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 92 minutes, Trần Chuong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dong Ha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trần Chuong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Dong Ha booed when Huy Hoàng FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Lam didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute of the match Đinh Cong Vinh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trần Huỳnh showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Trần Tan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Huỳnh having to interfere. Dong Ha's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
