Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Huỳnh got the match started through his kick off. The Phu Ly fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Phu Ly's Phạm Nhật Minh looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Phu Ly:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dong Hoi:s goal. The goalkeeper, Nguyễn Nga, was totally fooled by Dong Hoi's Phan Tinh, who 13 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Nguyễn Huỳnh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bùi Thien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Nga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Tuyet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Tuyet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Nga was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Trần Dung had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping Nguyễn Dung's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Dung had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Dung. Dong Hoi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Dung was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half Phu Ly were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Trần Dung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Huỳnh in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dong Hoi's Trần Hieu got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Nguyễn Dung, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Phu Ly booed when Dong Hoi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đặng Tuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Nguyễn Tuyet made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Nga. Phu Ly's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Vũ Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Phan Tinh placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Trần Anh Hung was shown his second yellow card after 89 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Phu Ly's Trần Anh Hung got a free kick in the 90th minute. When Nguyễn Huỳnh fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phu Ly's protests and gave Nguyễn Huỳnh a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 played minutes Phu Ly got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Huỳnh. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
