Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Loc started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Trần Duy kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. When Nguyễn Nam came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Nam Dinh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Nam couldn't finish the play. After 12th play minutes Nguyễn Loc shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Lâm Thi and just under the crossbar into goal. Nguyễn Viet was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Nguyễn Nam capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Nam really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Nguyễn Lan charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Lan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lâm Thi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 21st minute of play. After 25 played minutes Cao Bang got a freekick which was hit by Trần Duy. In the 29th minute, Hoàng Nguyet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Nguyễn Loc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cao Bang fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 41st minute, Hoàng Nguyet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Nam Dinh booed when Cao Bang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes in the game, Hoàng Nguyet fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nguyễn Viet having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Nam to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play Nam Dinh's Nguyễn Lan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 55 played minutes Nam Dinh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nam. Dương Phuoc took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lâm Thi. Nam Dinh's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Trần Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dương Phuoc fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cao Bang's protests and gave Dương Phuoc a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Nam Dinh a penalty, 65 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Trần Nam, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cao Bang's Nguyễn Viet. 2-2. Trần Huy hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Cao Bang's Nguyễn Viet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hoàng Nguyet in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Vũ Viet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nam Dinh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vũ Viet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vũ Viet kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Trần Duc might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lâm Thi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trần Duc ran back to his position shaking his head. Lâm Thi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Duy in the 85th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, one of Nam Dinh:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lâm Thi went to the wrong direction when Dương Phuoc was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The supporters of Cao Bang booed when Nam Dinh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nam didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
