Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Hoai made the kick off and thus started the match. After 7 minutes, Lê Lam made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Phu Ly's Nguyễn Teo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 10 minutes into the match, Lai Chau's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Hoai came free, but Ngô Tu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Nguyễn Phuc fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lai Chau's protests and gave Nguyễn Phuc a yellow card for diving instead. 11 minutes into the game, one of Lai Chau:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Nguyễn Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Nguyễn Teo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Trần Tuan fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lai Chau's protests and gave Trần Tuan a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Lai Chau got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tuan. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Tuan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Teo was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 25th minute, Nguyễn Tuyet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 played minutes Lai Chau got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tuan. The audience thought a goal was coming when Võ Nam got free with Ngô Tu in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the match, Phu Ly's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Tuan came free, but Nguyễn Teo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Võ Nam came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ngô Tu could save by the left post. Nguyễn Tuan hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Hoai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ngô Tu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lê Lam to strike the kick off in the second half. Ngô Tu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Hoai in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Lê Lam reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nguyễn Teo. The goal made the score 0-3. Nguyễn Tuan struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Nguyễn Teo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lai Chau. Tạ Lien charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tạ Lien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tạ Lien hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Hoai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Võ Nam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ngô Tu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. When Nguyễn Tuan came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Lai Chau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Tuan couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Phu Ly's Nguyễn Tuyet got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lai Chau eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
