Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Nam started the match with the kick off. Tien Giang's Nguyễn Tho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nam in the 3rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Nam Dinh:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tien Giang:s goal. When the match had been going on for 10 minutes, Tien Giang's Nguyễn Hanh got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lâm Thi. In the 13th minute, Nguyễn Cong Vinh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Cong Vinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lâm Thi having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Lê Duc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lâm Thi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vũ Viet hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Duc in the 23rd minute of play forced Nam Dinh's goalkeeper Lâm Thi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nam in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 played minutes Tien Giang got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Tho. After a defensive mix-up in Tien Giang's zone, Nguyễn Nam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Tho came out of the goal and Nguyễn Nam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the game, Tien Giang's Nguyễn Mai nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lâm Thi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. A collision led to Nam Dinh getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Văn Binh hit a great ball. Lê Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Lâm Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lê Duc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 51st minute of play forced Nam Dinh's goalkeeper Lâm Thi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lâm Thi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Lê Duc made a precise shot to the right of Lâm Thi. Nam Dinh's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 65th minute, Nguyễn Nam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Nam Dinh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Cong Vinh came free, but Lâm Thi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 played minutes Nam Dinh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duong. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Nguyễn Tho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Tien Giang's Nguyễn Cong Vinh in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nam Dinh's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Nam in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Tho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Tho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Nam in the 84th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Nam Dinh's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Duc came free, but Lâm Thi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nam Dinh's Nguyễn Nam got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nam Dinh's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
