Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lê Lam started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes, Nguyễn Tuan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phu Ly and the Lai Chau players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lai Chau's Ngô Tu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Nhật Minh in the 6th minute of play. Trần Tuan hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Lai Chau's Huỳnh Dong got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Phu Ly's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Phạm Nhật Minh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ngô Tu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Lai Chau's attack was well implemented in the 27th minute, but when Nguyễn Tuan was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. 32 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Huỳnh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ngô Tu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Lai Chau booed when Phu Ly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Anh Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Phu Ly's zone, Nguyễn Tuan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Nga came out of the goal and Nguyễn Tuan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lê Lam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nga having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Nguyễn Tuan could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Nguyễn Nga however easily saved by the left post. Trần Hoang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Huỳnh to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Nguyễn Huỳnh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Phu Ly's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Huỳnh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ngô Tu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 53rd minute, Phạm Nhật Minh made a precise shot to the right of Ngô Tu. Lai Chau's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Đỗ Hanh hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Phu Ly's Nguyễn Dung couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 61st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Lai Chau. After having played for 64 minutes, Nguyễn Huỳnh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phu Ly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Huỳnh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phạm Nhật Minh blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ngô Tu having to make a save. In the 73rd minute, Trần Tuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Phu Ly's Nguyễn Dung tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Lai Chau's Đỗ Hanh got a free kick in the 76th minute. Phạm Nhật Minh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ngô Tu having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Phu Ly's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Tuan came free, but Nguyễn Nga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Lai Chau booed when Phu Ly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Dung didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute of the match Huỳnh Binh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Nga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Phạm Nhật Minh put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Ngô Tu. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Phu Ly had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
