Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lê Duc started the match with the kick off. Nguyễn Tho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Tuyet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bùi Thien could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Tho made a huge save. 10 minutes into the match, Dong Hoi's Nguyễn Tuyet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Tho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Phan Thanh's late challenge caught a Dong Hoi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phan Thanh helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Dong Hoi booed when Tien Giang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Thanh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lê Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Dung having to interfere. Nguyễn Hong was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Thi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dong Hoi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tien Giang the free kick. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dong Hoi! Bùi Thien's late challenge caught a Tien Giang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bùi Thien helped the player get up and apologised. After 36 played minutes Dong Hoi got a freekick which was hit by Bùi Thien. In the 40th match minute, Dong Hoi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Hieu to maneuver through the defense. Lê Duc struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Trần Dung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tien Giang. Nguyễn Cong Vinh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trần Dung read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. If Nguyễn Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lê Duc might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Dung. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lê Duc ran back to his position shaking his head.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bùi Thien stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hoàng Tho kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Duc in the 58th minute of play forced Dong Hoi's goalkeeper Trần Dung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Dung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trần Dung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Duc in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Hoàng Hanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bùi Thien in the 83rd minute of play forced Tien Giang's goalkeeper Nguyễn Tho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Dong Hoi's Bùi Thien nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nguyễn Tho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Lê Duc succeeded in the game's 95th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
