Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ha Tinh's Nguyễn Minh started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Lai Chau booed when Ha Tinh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Huỳnh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Tấn Dũng charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Tấn Dũng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ha Tinh's Nguyễn Tấn Dũng got a free kick in the 6th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Lai Chau's Huỳnh Binh tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ngô Tu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Minh in the 19th minute of the match. Lê Lam hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Lai Chau's Nguyễn Tuan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phạm Hoang narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Nguyễn Tuan fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Triệu Thanh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ha Tinh's supporters rose to their feet, but Triệu Thanh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ngô Tu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 43 played minutes Ha Tinh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hanh. 44 minutes in the game, Lê Lam fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Phạm Hoang having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Lê Lam made the kick off in the second half. Triệu Thanh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ngô Tu made a huge save. Ha Tinh's Nguyễn Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ngô Tu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Minh in the 60th minute of the match. After 63 minutes, Lê Lam made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ha Tinh's Phạm Hoang tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trần Huỳnh during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Trần Huỳnh hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Ngô Tu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Minh in the 70th minute of the match. 75 minutes into the game, Bùi Tuyet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lai Chau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ha Tinh the free kick. Bùi Tuyet kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Triệu Thanh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Ngô Tu made a huge save. In the 84thth minute of the game Nguyễn Tuan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ha Tinh's Phạm Hoang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Triệu Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ngô Tu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Lai Chau's Huỳnh Binh got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
