Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Phan Diem started the match with the kick off. Võ Tran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Phong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute, Nguyễn Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Quang Ninh getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Nguyễn Lan hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Ninh Thuan's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Lan came free, but Đặng Nam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Quang Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Nam to maneuver through the defense. Lê Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đặng Nam having to interfere. Nguyễn Lan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Đặng Nam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Lan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Nguyễn Lan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Nguyễn Phong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 42 minutes into the match, Ninh Thuan's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Phuong came free, but Đặng Nam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ninh Thuan's zone, Lê Phuong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đặng Nam came out of the goal and Lê Phuong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đặng Nam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Phuong went, in the 49th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After the first half Quang Ninh were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lê Phuong stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Lê Phuong came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Quang Ninh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lê Phuong couldn't finish the play. If Nguyễn Lan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Võ Tran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ninh Thuan booed when Quang Ninh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Phuoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 86 played minutes Quang Ninh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Nam. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Nguyễn Lan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quang Ninh's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Lan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Đặng Nam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Phan Phuoc fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quang Ninh's protests and gave Phan Phuoc a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th match minute, Quang Ninh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Phuoc to maneuver through the defense. Đoàn Duc kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Quang Ninh played a much better game than Ninh Thuan and deserved their victory. The Ninh Thuan players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
