In the 5th minute, Lê Lam reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nguyễn Dinh. The goal made the score 1-0. Nguyễn Dinh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Lam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes hà nội got a freekick which was hit by Huỳnh Thuyet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Bien in the 25th minute of play forced Lai Chau's goalkeeper Ngô Tu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nguyễn Lien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Lai Chau's Lê Van Quyen got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Lai Chau's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Bien came free, but Ngô Tu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Lien in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ngô Tu saved Lai Chau from getting behind. Lê Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Tuan struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Nguyễn Dinh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lê Lam to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Lê Lam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lê Lam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute Trần Tuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Dinh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Dinh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Lam, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Nguyễn Bien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ngô Tu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Bien recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ngô Tu. Nguyễn Bien showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 66th minute Lê Lam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Dinh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lai Chau fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! Lê Lam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Triệu Huy hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Ngô Tu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Bien in the 88th minute of play. Ngô Tu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Bien, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 93 played minutes Lai Chau got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tuan. The hà nội players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
