In the 14th minute Lê Thanh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Teo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 played minutes HaNoi got a freekick which was hit by Võ Huynh Duc. 20 minutes into the match, Son Tay's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thuy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Võ Huynh Duc. Nguyễn Teo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 29th minute of the match. Nguyễn Thuy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Đặng Hung in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes, Nguyễn Thanh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Son Tay and the HaNoi players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Nguyễn Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. HaNoi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Son Tay the free kick. A collision led to HaNoi getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Đào Cadeo hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lê Thanh made a kick off. Nguyễn Loc struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Nguyễn Teo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Son Tay. After 53 minutes of play, Son Tay's Nguyễn Loc made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Teo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Đặng Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Son Tay's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thuy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nguyễn Thuy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Võ Huynh Duc in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th minute Đặng Hung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thuy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Son Tay's Lê Thanh in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye HaNoi's goalie prevented a goal. If Đặng Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Son Tay's goal looked a bit too open when Đặng Hung came free, but Nguyễn Thuy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Son Tay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Thanh to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Teo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Thanh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, HaNoi's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Thanh came free, but Nguyễn Teo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Đào Cadeo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
