Nguyen Gia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phạm Nhật Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cam Ranh's goalkeeper Huỳnh Huy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Loc in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Huỳnh Huy saved Cam Ranh from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, Phạm Nhật Minh notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cam Ranh's Huỳnh Huy. Huỳnh Huy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 23rd minute, Nguyễn Phuong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Huynh Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Nguyễn Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cam Ranh booed when Nguyen Gia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phạm Dung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Minh Phượng hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Minh Phượng kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. When Phạm Nhật Minh came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Nguyen Gia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Nhật Minh couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the game, Hoàng Thuyet recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nguyễn Duc. Hoàng Thuyet showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. In the 39th minute, Nguyễn Phuong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience cheered loudly when Nguyễn Quang Thanh's long shot in the 41st minute became 3-1 when the ball went to the left of and passed Nguyễn Duc. After 45 played minutes Cam Ranh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tho. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lê Huynh Duc to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Cam Ranh's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Nga came free, but Huỳnh Huy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 played minutes Cam Ranh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tho. Phạm Nhật Minh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Nguyễn Duy made a great header on Nguyen Gia's corner, it was just that Cam Ranh's Huỳnh Huy managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Thuyet in the 70th minute of play forced Nguyen Gia's goalkeeper Nguyễn Duc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes Cam Ranh got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Quang Thanh. Huỳnh Huy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Duy, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Lê Huynh Duc made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Duc. Nguyen Gia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Nguyen Gia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cam Ranh.
