Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Dung started the match with the kick off. Nguyễn Teo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Dung in the 4th minute of play. Nguyễn Dinh hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Dinh kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Đặng Hung sped through Huế's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dương Tuan. Võ Huynh Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dương Tuan having to interfere. Dương Tuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Võ Huynh Duc in the 19th minute of the match. HaNoi's Nguyễn Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Chuong in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to HaNoi getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Trần Phuong hit a great ball. When Nguyễn Dung came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Huế fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Dung couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Teo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phạm Chuong in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Dung in the 33rd minute of play forced HaNoi's goalkeeper Nguyễn Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Lâm Tuan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Teo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The attack was good, but when Nguyễn Dung in the 40th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 43rd match minute, HaNoi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Huy to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Dinh charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Dinh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Đặng Hung made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Phạm Chuong ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Teo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Đặng Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Võ Huynh Duc's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dương Tuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Đặng Hung received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Dương Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Huế's goal looked a bit too open when Đặng Hung came free, but Dương Tuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Than kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Huế's zone, Đặng Hung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dương Tuan came out of the goal and Đặng Hung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Dung took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Teo. Nguyễn Teo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, HaNoi's Trần Huy got a free kick in the 81st minute. Lâm Tuan hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Võ Huynh Duc notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Huế's Dương Tuan. Dương Tuan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the HaNoi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Huế.
