Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Van Tai Em got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Nha Trang defense, Nguyễn Van Tai Em kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vũ Hoai. The Nha Trang fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vũ Hoai should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Than in the 12th minute of play forced Gia Nghia's goalkeeper Đặng Tong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Than dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Đặng Tong, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Lê Than managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nha Trang's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Than was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Đặng Tong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Van Tai Em might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vũ Hoai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Van Tai Em ran back to his position shaking his head. Đặng Tong made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Nguyễn Hong sent off a good shot on target. Vũ Hoai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ngô Khoi in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lê Than to make the kick off. Đặng Tong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Than went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 60th minute, Lê Thuyet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đặng Tong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hong, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute Nguyễn Van Tai Em shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vũ Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 68 minutes, Lê Than managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nha Trang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lê Than was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ngô Khoi took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vũ Hoai. Vũ Hoai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lý Tran in the 74th minute of play forced Gia Nghia's goalkeeper Đặng Tong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ngô Khoi in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vũ Hoai, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 93 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Van Tai Em notched a goal, 4-5, to the right of Nha Trang's Vũ Hoai. Vũ Hoai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Nha Trang supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gia Nghia's performance. The match ended with a win for Gia Nghia.
