Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Đặng Mai kicked off to start the match. Nguyễn Duy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dương Phong, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Nguyễn Tu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Duy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hoàng Hoa during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Long Xuyên was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hoàng Hoa to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 7 minutes, Nguyễn Tong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoang Long's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Tong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Tong in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Duy saved Long Xuyên from getting behind. Đỗ Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Chuong having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hoang Long's Phan Viet got a free kick in the 22nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Hanh in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Duy saved Long Xuyên from getting behind. Nguyễn Duy came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Hoang Long's Nguyễn Tong. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Tong quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 33rd minute, Lý Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Long Xuyên's Ngô Tuyet got a free kick in the 34th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Hoang Long's Phạm Loc tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Long Xuyên's Đặng Mai was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 39th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Nguyễn Hanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Duy having to interfere. Đặng Mai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Lê Chuong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Long Xuyên's Đỗ Phuong got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Hanh made a kick off. Đỗ Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Chuong having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đỗ Phuong in the 60th minute of play forced Hoang Long's goalkeeper Lê Chuong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Tong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Nguyễn Duy made a huge save. After 63 minutes of play Long Xuyên's Lý Hung was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 64th minute, Lý Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Hanh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Duy having to interfere. If Nguyễn Hanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Hoang Long's zone, Đỗ Phuong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Chuong came out of the goal and Đỗ Phuong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đỗ Phuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hoàng Phuc kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Ngô Tuyet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ngô Tuyet might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lê Chuong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ngô Tuyet ran back to his position shaking his head. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
