Đỗ Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Tong having to interfere. Nguyễn Duy in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nguyễn Duy, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Phạm Tong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đỗ Phuong in the 11th minute of the match. Đỗ Phuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Phạm Tong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nguyễn Tho fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Can Tho's protests and gave Nguyễn Tho a yellow card for diving instead. Nguyễn Tho kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 26thth minute of the game Đặng Mai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Can Tho's Phạm Tong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đặng Mai in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phạm Tong saved Can Tho from getting behind. Nguyễn Duy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Duy made a huge save. Long Xuyên's Nguyễn Duy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Long Xuyên from getting a goal against them. Phạm Tong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đỗ Phuong in the 40th minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, Can Tho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Dong to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the game, Ngô Tuyet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Long Xuyên's Nguyễn Duy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Mai in the 99th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Can Tho had won after a very even match.
