Trần Thuyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Tong, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Trần Thuyet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hanh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nguyễn Diem came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Lai Chau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Diem couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Hanh in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trần Thuyet saved Lai Chau from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Diem in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lê Chuong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Hanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Trần Thuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Thuyet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Hanh, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 30 minutes into the game, Hoàng Huỳnh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hoang Long's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lai Chau the free kick. In the 31st minute, Hoàng Huỳnh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Chuong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Tấn Dũng in the 32nd minute of the match. Nguyễn Hanh kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Nguyễn Diem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The wind increased when Trần Tấn Dũng made the kick off in the second half. Lê Chuong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Tấn Dũng's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Trần Thuyet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Hanh in the 68th minute of play. Hoang Long's Nguyễn Tu pulled a muscle in his leg after 69 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 69th match minute, Lai Chau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Khoi to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute Nguyễn Tong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Thuyet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trần Thuyet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Tong went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Nguyễn Diem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lê Chuong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Nguyễn Tong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Trần Thuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lai Chau's goalkeeper Trần Thuyet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Lai Chau getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dương Thanh Bình hit a great ball. Trần Tấn Dũng blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Chuong having to make a save. Hoang Long were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lai Chau for a fine match.
