Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Liem got the match started through his kick off. Lê Chuong made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Lê Thien sent off a good shot on target. If Nguyễn Tong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Liem in the 9th minute of play forced Hoang Long's goalkeeper Lê Chuong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Liem's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Chuong was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. When Nguyễn Tong came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Hoang Long fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Tong couldn't finish the play. After 26 played minutes, Kon Tum's Trần Chuong shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lê Chuong came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kon Tum reached it. Văn Van Quyen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Tong went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 1-1 became the score in the 35th minute when Nguyễn Liem elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Nguyễn Hanh struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Văn Van Quyen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hoang Long. Lê Chuong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Liem in the 41st minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Hanh was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Hoang Long's Nguyễn Tong made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Văn Van Quyen was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Nguyễn Liem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kon Tum's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Liem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lê Chuong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nguyễn Phuoc fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hoang Long's protests and gave Nguyễn Phuoc a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kon Tum booed when Hoang Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Phuoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nguyễn Tong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dương Phong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Văn Van Quyen made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Hoang Long's Văn Van Quyen threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Hanh, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Văn Van Quyen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Hanh in the 72nd minute of play. Văn Van Quyen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Hanh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Kon Tum's zone, Nguyễn Tong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Văn Van Quyen came out of the goal and Nguyễn Tong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Tong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Tu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Văn Van Quyen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Hanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nguyễn Tong's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Văn Van Quyen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nguyễn Liem recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hoang Long's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
