Dương Tho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Phuong, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The tension between the Tuy Hoa and the Binh Duong players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Tuy Hoa getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Nguyễn Pham hit a great ball. Dương Tho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Phuong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Tu notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tuy Hoa's Dương Tho. Dương Tho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 45th minute, one of Tuy Hoa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tuy Hoa. The goalkeeper, Dương Tho, was totally fooled by Binh Duong's Hoàng Bien, who 47 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
Tuy Hoa's Dương Tho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Tu in the 53rd minute of play. Nguyễn Huynh Duc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Tinh in the 67th minute. If Nguyễn Tu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Binh Duong's Lê Phuong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dương Tho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Lưu Lan lined in a short shot 3-2 behind a frustrated Nguyễn Huynh Duc. Nguyễn Huynh Duc made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Nguyễn Tinh sent off a good shot on target. Lê Hoang kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Lê Phuong took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dương Tho. Dương Tho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tuy Hoa's goalkeeper Dương Tho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Binh Duong's zone, Lưu Lan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Huynh Duc came out of the goal and Lưu Lan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lưu Lan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nguyễn Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Binh Duong getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Trần Chung hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Nguyễn Tu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Binh Duong's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Tu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dương Tho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tuy Hoa players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Binh Duong.
