Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Đặng Mai got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Tam Ky's zone, Đỗ Phuong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Quang Thanh came out of the goal and Đỗ Phuong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đặng Mai had several of the Tam Ky's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 4 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Nguyễn Quang Thanh as he didn't even see the shot coming. Hoàng Loc's shot from long distance in the 13th minute was not bad at all, but Tam Ky's Nguyễn Quang Thanh knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Nghiêm Nghiêm-Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Đặng Mai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute Đặng Mai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Quang Thanh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ngô Tuyet got free with Nguyễn Quang Thanh in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute Đặng Mai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Quang Thanh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lê Hieu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Tinh hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Đặng Mai received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nguyễn Quang Thanh came out and tried to block the shot, but Đặng Mai slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nghiêm Nghiêm-Minh to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Tam Ky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Minh-ha to maneuver through the defense. Lê Hieu struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Nguyễn Duy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tam Ky. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đặng Mai in the 60th minute of play forced Tam Ky's goalkeeper Nguyễn Quang Thanh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes in the game, Nghiêm Nghiêm-Minh fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nguyễn Duy having to interfere. Nguyễn Duy made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Lê Hieu sent off a good shot on target. Nguyễn Quang Thanh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Đặng Mai went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Long Xuyên getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Ngô Tuyet hit a great ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Đỗ Phuong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Xuyên's supporters crossed their fingers, but Đỗ Phuong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Đặng Mai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Nghiêm Nghiêm-Minh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tam Ky's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nghiêm Nghiêm-Minh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st play minute Lê Hieu came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nguyễn Duy. 3-1. If Đỗ Phuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 minutes of play, Long Xuyên's Đỗ Phuong made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Quang Thanh was left in no man's land by his defense there! Đỗ Phuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nguyễn Quang Thanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Duy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nghiêm Nghiêm-Minh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Long Xuyên had won after a very even match.
